Dr. Zeshan received his PhD in Environmental Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand in 2012 in Solid Waste Treatment and Management. He is currently a Professor and Head of Department at the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (IESE), NUST, Islamabad. He has participated in various international workshops and conferences held in Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan. He has also worked on different externally funded research projects. He has published in various peer-reviewed international journals of high quality and supervised many MS and PhD students. His research areas include:

• Solid waste treatment and management
• Design and operation of anaerobic reactor systems for biogas production
• Micro-algae production for carbon utilization and resource recovery
• Climate change mitigation through organic waste management
