Dr. Christoph Lehmann is a distinguished expert in disaster prevention, hydrology, and hydraulic engineering, born in Bern, Switzerland. He pursued studies in Geography and History at Bern University and later served as an Assistant Professor at the Geographical Institute of Bern University, specializing in sediment transport, river and torrent morphology, and natural disasters. Dr. Lehmann’s notable work includes flood analysis and the development of mitigation strategies following the 1992 flood events along the Karakoram Highway in Northern Pakistan, in collaboration with Bonn University and Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ). His extensive international experience includes consulting for UNDP in Honduras from 1999 to 2001, where he focused on natural disaster management in Central America. Renowned for his expertise in flood prevention strategies, hazard mapping, and discharge and sediment assessments, Dr. Lehmann continues to provide valuable consultancy for flood protection projects globally.
